    University of Florida

    • University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications offers students the opportunity to earn undergraduate degrees, Master's and Ph.D's in Journalism. The University often wins awards for its journalism department, and students can be offered the chance to study abroad. For instance, students could study documentary photojournalism in Berlin in 2010. The campus has an online newsmagazine and the campus Orange and Blue magazine that students can participate in to gain experience. The program is bettered by an advisory council of 20 professional journalists who evaluate its strengths and weaknesses.

    Flagler College

    • Flagler College is a four year private liberal arts college in the historic city of St. Augustine, Florida. It offers a Communication major with a specialty in journalism. Flagler College also offers a journalism minor to people who are not majoring in Communication. Students have the opportunity to become involved with the radio station WFCF/88.5Mc, television station FCTV, campus newspaper The Gargoyle, and the literary journal The Flagler Review. The college has been named one of the best liberal arts colleges in the southeast by U.S. News & World Report. Professors have unique experiences that motivate students to succeed. For instance, Communication professor Tracey Eaton was a journalist in Havana, Cuba, and met Fidel Castro.

    University of Central Florida

    • University of Central Florida Nicholson School of Communication is located in the third largest college in the country and the largest college in Florida. The program helps students gain professional experience through internships in New York and Los Angeles with the Multi‐cultural Advertising Internship Program, which gives minority students the chance to get internships in national advertising agencies. The faculty encourages students to engage in research projects with the Showcase program.
