How to Remove Volkswagen Brake Rotors

    • 1). Break the lug nuts loose on the front wheels of the Volkswagen by turning them counterclockwise with a tire wrench 1/4 turn.

    • 2). Place the floor jack under the front jack point and jack up on the Volkswagen.

    • 3). Place jack stands under the front pinch welds of the vehicle and lower the Volkswagen onto the stands.

    • 4). Continue to remove the lug nuts and then pull the wheels off the wheel hub.

    • 5). Unbolt the bolts holding the caliper to the caliper mounting bracket.

    • 6). Lift the caliper off the rotor and secure it with zip ties to the coil springs above the brake assembly.

    • 7). Pull the rotor straight off the hub assembly.
